Private 1-1 training sessions are a great way to learn how to handle difficult training issues with your dog.
Sessions are available covering issues from pulling on the lead to your dog not coming back when called.
All training methods are carried out using positive reinforcement, using treats and play as a reward.
The sessions cost £40 and last approximatley an hour and a half.
A full detailed written plan covering everything discussed is provided within 48 hours of the training session.
I live in Clevedon with my partner, our young daughter and our 3 Working Sheepdogs, and I have been training dogs both professionally and for pleasure for over 15 years.
I have been helping people and their pet dogs with training and behavioural issues for a number of years now.
Professionally I worked for one of the UK's leading assistance dog charities as an Instructor, training dogs to help children and adults with physical disabilties carry out daily tasks, and also dealing with any behavioural issues.
Personally I competed with my 3 dogs in Obedience for many years, I was most sucessful with my dog Jasper who became eligable to work class C (the level just below championship). All my dogs are now retired.
I have recently qualified as a Puppy school tutor for 'Puppy School'.
I only use kind, reward based training techniques.
It is a real pleasure to be able to share the knowledge and skills that I have developed over the years, to help people and their dogs share a happy life together.
Our puppy classes are affilated to 'Puppy School' which was founded and is directed by world renowned dog trainer and behaviourist Gwen Bailey.
Puppy classes are available to vaccinated pups up to 20 weeks of age.
On the course we cover;
Loose lead walking
Sit, stand and down
Coming when called
Play and play biting
How to handle and groom your dog
The course is £78 and consists of 6 evening classes, each class lasting one hour. In addition there will be 1 free weekend recall session, lasting approx 45 minutes, where you can learn more about letting your dog off the lead in an outdoor safe and controlled environment, the outdoor sessions are weather permitting.
We allow a maximum of 8 pups in a class, we purposely keep the groups small so that we can give you and your pup 1-1 attention.
We also now run adolescent classes for dogs aged between 5 and 12 months, please contact us for more information
For the duration of both courses we also provide telephone/email suppport if needed.
Classes are held in Clevedon and Portishead.
